Weight-loss surgery

has been shown to be very effective at producing significant and sustained weight-loss. There are several different weight-loss operations that are currently available that can lead to this desired result. Because of this, one of the most frequent questions I get from patients considering weight-loss surgery is,
“How do I decide which procedure is right for me?”
Gastric Banding,

is a procedure where a band is placed around the upper part of the stomach creating a small stomach pouch restricting the amount of food that a person can take eat. The rest of the stomach remains below the band and food will pass through the outlet slower than in normal digestion
Sleeve Gastrectomy,

The Sleeve gastrectomy involves that the stomach is restricted by dividing it vertically and removing more than 70 percent of it. The stomach that remains is shaped like a thin banana. The nerves to the stomach and the outlet valve (pylorus) remain intact with the idea of preserving the functions of the stomach while reducing the volume. Note that there is no intestinal bypass or malabsorption with this procedure, only stomach reduction
Gastric bypass,

Laparoscopic Roux en Y gastric Bypass ("LRYGBP") procedure involves creating a stomach pouch out of a small portion of the stomach approximately the size of an egg. This pouch is then attached directly to the small intestine, bypassing a large part of the stomach and duodenum
  Gallblader Disease

Gallbladder removal is one of the most commonly performed surgical procedures in the United States. Today, gallbladder surgery is performed laparoscopically. The medical name for this procedure is Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy.

  Breast Surgery

The easiest way to understand how the inside of the breast is formed is by comparing it to an upturned bush. Its leaves are known as lobules and they produce milk that drains into ducts that are the branches of the breast tree. These in turn drain into 12 or 15 major or large ducts which empty onto the surface of the nipple, just like the branches of a tree drain to the trunk.
  Thyroid Disease

The thyroid is a small gland located below the skin and muscles at the front of the neck, just at the spot where a bow tie would rest. It's brownish red, with left and right halves (called lobes) that look like a butterfly's wings. It's light like a butterfly, too, and usually weighs less than an ounce
